About
I'm Bence Weiszmann, a Microsoft Cloud Engineer specialising in Microsoft identity and cybersecurity.
Most of my work is about designing cloud environments that stay secure and resilient, with identity at the centre: modern authentication, Zero Trust architecture, threat protection and getting the security configuration of Microsoft platforms right.
I write because a product overview rarely tells you what you need on the day you implement something. Which licence does this need? Which role can actually see that data? What happens to devices that were onboarded before the policy existed? Those are the questions I try to answer, based on hands-on work in enterprise environments rather than on feature lists.
Writing is also how I learn. Taking a product like Defender for Endpoint apart over several articles, from architecture to permissions to onboarding, forces me to understand each piece properly before I explain it. Some articles are published in both English and Hungarian.
I keep coming back to one idea: in a cloud-first world, identity is the security perimeter. A lot of what I write follows from that.
If you work with these technologies too, I'd like to hear what you're running into. The best way to reach me is on LinkedIn.
